Coincidentally I was simplifying this article yesterday and had an inquiry on this very topic.

Businesses owners are often puzzled which route to take, a device friendly website or a mobile app, sometimes clients are asking for a device friendly website but calling it a mobile app. Can be confusing for those not in the know, and costly for the business owner if they choose the Mobile App over a device friendly website.

An Interactive Print Campaign - Enjoy with your smartphones!

I’ve just finished the print design for an interactive campaign with a client. Very exciting as this site is in redesign and needs to be complete before the distribution date!

On the 25th of this month the Hampshire Life magazine, an A5 free advertising publication gets distributed to 18,000 homes and businesses. We’re told it has a shelf life of 12 months and with the interactive content in the centre spread we’re going to get some indication… fingers crossed!  The campaign features a monthly draw for £50 John Lewis vouchers which initially will take place across August, September and October with the provision to extend.

I've just spoken with Rob at The Echo who handles the advertising for my client and Ape Red Media has piqued his interest, he tells me he’s been looking for a QR code. Those very user unfriendly little squares of code, not with this. I’ve told him to wait until it’s printed then follow the instructions! I want his feed back...

Web Usage Figures

Back in 2011 figures released by the UK’s Office for National Statistics showed 41.6 million of the  UK’s adults used the internet and 8.43 million had never used the internet. The 2014 figures show

  • 44.6 million adults (87%) in the UK had used the Internet in Q1 2014, an increase of 1.1 million since Q1 2013.
  • 6.4 million adults (13%) had never used the Internet, falling by 659,000 since Q1 2013.
  • Almost all (99%) 16 to 24 year olds had used the Internet, compared with 37% of adults aged 75 years and over.

Smartphones and Tablets are now making a significant mark on the usage stats with 53% of UK adults having accessed the internet while on the move.

With 50% of adults between the ages of 45 and 54 in the UK now reporting to be active in social media networking.
